In the morning of July 10, 2015, the signing ceremony of agreement on establishing an international hospital by Hiking Group and Yongsei Hospital was held at Qingdao Westin Hotel. Zhang Xinqi, the mayor of Qingdao, Luan Xin, vice mayor of Qingdao, Han Seung-soo, former Prime Minister of South Korea, Lee Soo Jun, South Korea consul general to Qingdao, Jeong Nam Sik, president of Yongsei Hospital and Sin Hyeong Geun, former South Korea consul general to Qingdao and provincial, municipal and district officials attended signing ceremony. Lee Soo Jun and Luan Xin delivered speeches at the ceremony.
Lee Soo Jun hailed in his speech the cooperative hospital established in Qingdao by Yongsei Hospital, that owns first class medical technique and advanced management, and Hiking Group will open a new chapter in the medical cooperation between South Korea and China and the consul-general hoped the hospital could make its contribution to the improvement of the public health care in Qingdao.
In Ms. Luan’s speech, the vice mayor said health care is an emerging industry as well as a sunrise industry and the Party Qingdao Committee and Qingdao Municipal Government warmly welcome world renowned medical care institutions to establish their medical care facilities in Qingdao and the relevant government agencies will provide great support.
Then Zhang Jianhua, the chairman of Hiking Group, and Jeong Nam Sik, president of Yongsei Hospital, signed the agreement on behalf of the two sides.
Before the signing ceremony, Zhang Xinqi, the mayor of Qingdao, and Luan Xin met with the Korean guests who attended the signing ceremony.
Yongsei Hospital is one of the oldest and biggest university hospitals in South Korea. It is affiliated with Yonsei University College of Medicine. It is the earliest large scale general hospital in the country that passes JCI certification and recertification. The cooperative project between Hiking Group and Yongsei Hospital will be built into a world class modern medical care and elderly care center.
