Chairman Zhang Jianhua elected as 2013 Qingdao Economic Figures

In the afternoon of April 10, the awards ceremony for the "Qingdao Economic Achievement Award 2013" jointly organized by Qingdao Business Association, Qingdao Entrepreneurs Association, Qingdao Publishing Group and Qingdao Broadcasting Station was held in Qingdao Broadcasting Center. 10 entrepreneurs including Hiking Group Chairman Zhang Jianhua were elected as economic figures of 2013.
Wu Jingjian, Chairman of Qingdao Business Association and Qingdao Entrepreneurs Association, handed out the award to Zhang Jianhua. In an interview during the award ceremony, Mr. Zhang said that in recent years the traditional international trade encountered serious challenges. To meet them, Hiking Group had accelerated the transformation of its foreign trade development approach, taking two major measures: First, to actively implement the "going out" strategy, i.e. to purchase foreign mature marketing networks and well-known brands and to extend the trade chain to the high-value-added sector. Second, to build an international trade service platform oriented towards medium, small and micro enterprises that can effectively alleviate the financing difficulties of those enterprises and their relatively high social costs. He added, the platform currently had established cooperative relationships to more than 3,000 enterprises, and this number was planned to increase by 5,000 in the next three to five years.
The "Qingdao Economic Achievement Award 2013" aims to promote and recognize local economic development and innovative spirit of the city's entrepreneurs and economic circles. It is a showcase for annual economic highlights.
